  1. This prototype string library was written using the Zortech compiler
  2. version 3.  It also compiles cleanly with Turbo C++, and the makefile
  3. is adaptable for either.
  4.  
  5. However, there should be nothing in the source which is compiler
  6. dependant.  The makefile might require some attention with another version
  7. of make and/or another librarian.
  8.  
  9. The subdirectory TEST has some test programs, some supposedly correct
  10. output files and a batch file to run the tests.  If you make modifications
  11. run the tests.  If you make extensions add a test program to the test suite.
